Three Biblical Meditations for Christmas
A good Advent makes a better Christmas
Prepare for your celebration of Christmas with an in-depth, biblical look at what we are expecting: the coming of the Lord. We will be using Old Testament prophecies to shed light on the mysteries of the Incarnation and Nativity. Let us hearken to the words of St. Augustine: "The Scriptures, in any passage you care to choose, are singing of Christ, provided we have ears that are capable of picking out the tune. The Lord opened the minds of the Apostles so that they understood the Scriptures. That he will open our minds too is our prayer."
Begins the Week of November 29th
Since each session stands independently, people may join us for any or all sessions. A general outline of the three sessions is given below:
- Nov 29th: The Word of God
- Dec 6th: The Son of David
- Dec 13th: The Necessary Sacrifice
We hope to see you there. Each session is held three times a week: on Tuesday night, Wednesday night, and Thursday morning. The three weekly classes are at the same times and in the same locations as usual:
- at St. John Fisher College
Tuesday Evenings: 7:15 – 9:00 PM in Murphy Hall, across East Ave. (31F) from main campus: Map - in Charlotte
Wednesday Evening: 7:15 – 9:00 PM at 294 Burley Rd. (off Lake Ave., north of Riverside Cemetery): Map - in Pittsford
Thursday Mornings: 9:00 – 10:45 AM at 64 Sturbridge Lane (off Carriage Ct.): Map
